EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:

It’s one of those ideas that sounds good until it’s realized. By supposedly throwing down a challenge to hack its WikiLeaks site (to prove that they were impenetrable, perhaps?) the group behind WikiLeaks found itself the victim of a DNS attack.

OurMine, a Saudi Arabian hacking group hacked Julian Assange’s WikiLeaks site, taking over its web address for a period of time on Thursday. Visitors to WikiLeaks.org were redirected to a page created by OurMine, on which the group said, “they challenged us to hack them about a few months ago, and we’ve been working on this hack for a very long time, and finally we did it! It’s hacked!”
