Details are still unfolding, but initial reports indicated that a researcher from Mandiant, a FireEye subsidiary, was the target of a security breach. In a strike called #LeakTheAnalyst, hackers released a zip file that contained personal and professional files stolen from the Mandiant threat research analyst. In addition, the hackers gained access to the employee’s LinkedIn account and defaced the profile page.
FireEye says it is investigating the incident and is finding no evidence that company systems were compromised.
