The health care industry needs some medical attention. It is increasingly finding itself in the crosshairs of cyberattacks. What makes this especially chilling is that in addition to the threat of data breaches where sensitive personal information can be stolen, lives can be put at risk due to hacked equipment. Not only that, health care has traditionally been behind other industries in information technology spending.
Compounding those problems: the widespread cybersecurity talent shortage–made even worse by the fact that salaries found within health care are lower than in other industries.
