Cyber attacks don’t take long to inflict damage, and 12 days give ample opportunity. That’s the amount of time voter data for about 200 million Americans was left unprotected on a spreadsheet in the cloud.
The data in question included proprietary and public information, including addresses, views on issues, and other details that put people’s identities at risk. Worse, it was available for anyone to download, due to a significant security lapse.
